Intracoastal Townhome Project Ready to Go Vertical

8 03 2007

Chase Properties President Mike Balanky said construction of the townhome project on Beach Boulevard at the Intracoastal Waterway was delayed because it took several months to dig up 11 to 12 feet worth of old foundations.

Balanky knew he would find remnants of the former Lighthouse Grille restaurant that once stood there, and he knew there were other businesses at the site before that. What the developer and his construction crew didn’t know was that there were actually four separate foundations hidden beneath the sandy soil, some of them several feet thick. The earliest of the foundations was a boat ramp dating back to the early 1920s.

Balanky expects to start vertical construction in about 45 days on the project, which has been in the development stage for the last year.
